Y2X & KBG working together!

I’m absolutely delighted to be able to announce that, effective from today, Y2X and KBG are going to be working together.  Appointed as a non-Executive Director to their board this month, I will be providing advice in the go-to-market strategy, as well as playing a key part in defining and shaping the methodology for the Y2X project.  I’ll also be working on the Soft Skills, Leadership and IT Management Curriculum.

Who are Y2X?

Set up back in December 2016 by Lee McFarland, their founder and CEO, this important organisation offers much-needed support to ex-servicemen and women to help them in the sometimes difficult transition from military to civilian/professional life.  Many of those who have served in the UK, Nato or the US with distinction, are helped and given the necessary skills and capabilities required to become successful IT leaders in the workplace of today.

But how did it all start?  Well, Lee found his own transition out of the military and into civilian life and an IT career difficult and frustrating at times.  There were only a few influential mentors and IT leaders out there who took him under their wing and offered some help.  Ultimately though it was only when Lee was able to get things straight in his own mind that he was able to ultimately flourish and he succeeded in acquiring and working in roles such as PM, Programme Manager and as a Director.

But Lee wanted in some way to realise his own unique blend of several work ideals he’d had and passions in life – working in IT transformation, delivering a customer-first approach to IT and helping his brothers and sisters in the military to have and achieve a rewarding, fulfilling, financially stable future in civilian life.  Hence, Y2X was established and is now a market leader in placing qualified IT professionals in challenging roles at the best companies. They’re known for their quality of service and customer partnership, and their dedication to providing unwavering support to ex-servicemen and women to assist them in achieving their career goals in a civilian setting.

So, I’m sure you can absolutely understand why I’m so thrilled to be on board as a NED and to have such a worthwhile opportunity to work with Lee and all those involved at Y2X.
